What is MCP Search?
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to external sources and access up-to-date information.
MCP Search is Notiondesk's public, read-only MCP for your help center. It lets AI assistants search your documentation and read published articles directly instead of relying only on training data or general web search.
What can AI assistants access?
With MCP Search, a connected AI assistant can:
- Search your help center for relevant articles
- Read published articles
- Browse your collections
- Check your changelog for recent updates
MCP Search is read-only. AI assistants cannot create, edit, publish, or delete anything. Only content that's already published and public is accessible.
If your help center is available in multiple languages, assistants can automatically use articles in the language your reader is asking in.
Enable MCP Search on your help center
MCP Search is available on the Pro plan and above.
Go to Settings → General and find the MCP section. Enable MCP and copy your help center's connector URL.
Notiondesk provides connection instructions for Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, and Codex.
Your readers can also connect directly from your help center when the AI contextual menu is enabled.
