Workspace MCP overview

Notiondesk Workspace MCP connects your workspace to compatible AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Codex, and other MCP clients.

It gives authorized workspace teammates a secure way to review Notiondesk data, monitor help center activity, and perform supported actions directly from an AI assistant.

Workspace MCP uses OAuth authentication and respects the permissions of the Notiondesk teammate who connects it.

What is Workspace MCP?

The Model Context Protocol, or MCP, is an open standard that allows AI assistants to connect to external tools and data.

Notiondesk Workspace MCP is a private MCP connection designed for people who manage a Notiondesk workspace.

Once connected, an AI assistant can access supported Notiondesk information and actions without requiring you to open each section of the Notiondesk dashboard manually.

For example, you can ask:

Review the last 30 days of analytics and article feedback. Show me which articles we should improve first.

Or:

Check the translation and sync status for my main help center.

When your Notiondesk role allows it, the assistant can also perform supported actions such as triggering a sync or updating settings.

Who is Workspace MCP for?

Workspace MCP is designed for Notiondesk workspace teammates who want to work with Notiondesk through an AI assistant.

Typical users include:

• Support teams reviewing customer questions and content gaps

• Knowledge managers maintaining help center content

• Product teams reviewing feedback and chatbot conversations

• Localization teams monitoring translations

• Workspace administrators managing help center settings

• Developers using AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex

Workspace MCP is not intended for help center visitors or public documentation access. For public access to published help center content, use MCP Search instead.

What can you do with Workspace MCP?

Workspace MCP can bring information from different parts of Notiondesk into one AI conversation.

Depending on your Notiondesk role, you can use it to:

Review help center content

Inspect articles, collections, help centers, and other knowledge base information.

You can use an AI assistant to identify outdated content, weak articles, or documentation that needs attention.

Analyze customer feedback and support activity

Review signals such as:

• Article feedback

• Search activity

• Contact messages

• AI Chatbot conversations

• Individual chatbot messages

This can help you identify repeated questions and gaps in your documentation.

Review analytics

Ask your assistant to analyze help center performance and combine multiple signals into a prioritized list of improvements.

For example:

Review our analytics and article feedback from the last 30 days. Show me the five articles that need attention first and explain why.

Monitor and trigger syncs

Check synchronization status for your help center, articles, or collections.

When your role allows it, Workspace MCP can also trigger supported synchronization actions.

Manage translations

Workspace MCP can help you review:

• Glossary entries

Supported roles can also start translations or update translation-related settings.

Improve your AI Chatbot

Use Workspace MCP to review:

Manage help center settings

Workspace MCP can expose supported settings and actions such as:

Work across multiple help centers

If your workspace contains several help centers, Workspace MCP can work with the help centers your account is allowed to access and where Workspace MCP is enabled.

This makes it possible to review multiple brands, products, or regions from the same AI assistant.

Workspace MCP vs MCP Search

Notiondesk provides two MCP connections for different purposes.

Workspace MCP is private and designed for authorized Notiondesk teammates. It uses OAuth and can expose workspace data and supported actions.

MCP Search is designed for searching published help center content. It is read-only and intended for readers, customers, and external AI assistants.

Use Workspace MCP when you want an AI assistant to help manage Notiondesk.

Use MCP Search when you want an AI assistant to search and read your published documentation.

Authentication and permissions

Workspace MCP uses OAuth authentication.

Each teammate connects their own Notiondesk account, and the AI assistant receives only the permissions available to that teammate.

An AI client cannot gain more Notiondesk access than the account that authorized it.

Available access depends on your Notiondesk role:

Workspace MCP is also enabled separately for each help center.

A connected AI assistant can only access help centers where:

• Workspace MCP is enabled

• The connected Notiondesk teammate already has access

Which AI assistants can connect?

Workspace MCP works with AI clients that support remote MCP servers and OAuth authentication.

Supported clients include:

• ChatGPT

• Claude

• Claude Code

• Cursor

• VS Code

• Codex

• Other compatible MCP clients

Requirements

Workspace MCP requires:

• An active Notiondesk Enterprise subscription

• Access to the Notiondesk workspace

• Workspace MCP enabled for at least one help center

• An AI client that supports remote MCP servers and OAuth
